Tim Nealon, Photographer

Hello, my name is Tim Nealon and I am a photographer in Savannah Georgia. I figured I would create a page to introduce myself and my photography to this community.

My photography includes wedding photography, but I am especially known for my landscape and cityscape photography of Savannah Georgia and the surrounding areas. This is the main point of my website. I enjoy helping people coming to Savannah take the best photographs they can. By visiting my website of Savannah photographs, visitors to Savannah can learn where all of the great photography spots are. Do you have questions about photographing Savannah? Don't hesitate to contact me!

HDR Photography in Savannah

You will notice that my photographs of Savannah just look...different...and dare I say awesome! I use a technique called High Dynamic Range Photography for about 80% of the photographs on my Savannah Photography Blog. High Dynamic Range Photography is a technique that allows a photograph to capture a scene with a more natural, 'as the eye sees it' result.

I learned HDR Photography a number of years ago and I use it quite frequently.

Photographing Savannah

Being a photographer in Savannah is an awesome job. There is soo much to photograph in Savannah, I do not think I will ever run out of things I want to photograph.

When people come to Savannah they always go straight for the historic homes, landmarks and the famous statues that are all over Savannah. While this is perfectly fine, make sure you pay attention to the details of Savannah. Spend some time photographing the iron work that is present on many of the homes in Savannah. And of course, snap some photos of the Spanish Moss which helps make Savannah famous. Everyone thinks of Spanish Moss when they think of Savannah so don't head back home without grabbing a photo or two or three of it.

The weather in Savannah is usually great for photography. It doesn't rain too much. The sunsets are usually pretty nice, but the sunrises can be quite spectacular. If you want to get out of Savannah for a little trip, head east on 80 until you get to Tybee Island. It is only about 20 minutes. You can view and photograph spectacular sunrises as the sun breaks the horizon far out in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Cockspur Lighthouse can be viewed on your drive from Savannah To Tybee Island. Right before you get to Tybee Island, look to the right. You will see it in the distance.

  • Sunset over the Marsh

Photographing Savannah’s Wetlands One of the things I really love about Savannah is the diversity of locations to photographs. In a span of 5 minutes you can be photographing downtown Savannah and then a swamp spanning hundreds of acres filled with alligators and an assortment of birds. It is great! For a photographer, there isn’t [...] - 7 weeks ago

  • The Gardens of the Ballastone Inn

Photographing the Ballastone Inn, Savannah During my time in Savannah I may dare say that the Ballastone Inn, on Oglethorpe Avenue, is the most beautiful ‘home’ I have photographed while here. Inside and out, the Ballastone Inn is immaculately cared for. It is easy to see that when the Ballastone was being decorated and renovated [...] - 7 weeks ago

  • Another Savannah Photo Adventure

Backstage at the Lucas Theatre Today I had an opportunity to photograph the inside of the Lucas Theatre here in Savannah Georgia. First off, I want to thank the gang at the Lucas Theatre for allowing me access to areas the tours were not allowed. I also want to thank my friend Jessica for helping [...] - 7 weeks ago

  • The Pier on Tybee

Photographing the Pier on Tybee Island Tybee Island is a great place for photographers. Not only can you make a living photographing weddings there like my friend Shannon but it also has some incredible landscapes and ocean views. It is still my favorite place to photograph the sunrise… When photographing something as bare as a [...] - 8 weeks ago

  • Warren Square Walkway

Sidewalks in Savannah There is something about the pathways in Savannah that allow you to escape to a time when horses were the means of transportation and when women didn’t smell as good as they do now ( I am guessing, ha). Many of the walkways, especially in the Squares that dot the Historic District [...] - 8 weeks ago

  • The Lucas Theatre in Savannah

Photographing the Lucas Theatre in Savannah The Lucas Theatre, in Savannah Georgia, is a historic theatre on Abercorn Street in Savannah Georgia. Tim Nealon Photography

Tim Nealon Photography is sometimes what my business is called. It is not actually Tim Nealon Photography. That is a photographer from up north. By website is strictly www.TimNealon.com. Don't get us confused!

While I do photograph weddings in Savannah, the point of this is not to sell you anything. Just making sure you are aware that I am not Tim Nealon Photography, simply Tim Nealon.

In addition to weddings I also photograph all of Savannah for commercial clients.
